4 Days Gorilla Flying Safari

Experience the adventure of a lifetime with our 4 Days Gorilla Flying Safari! This popular package is perfect for travelers exploring East Africa. You’ll have the opportunity to visit two or three countries and can easily combine it with a trip to the Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya or the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.

To begin your journey, you’ll fly to Bwindi Forest National Park, where the majestic gorillas reside. We offer daily scheduled flights to Bwindi, with two options available: an early morning flight departing at 7:00 am and an afternoon flight departing at 12:00 pm to Kihihi airstrip. Please note that flights to Kisoro airstrip only operate in the morning due to weather conditions.

Kihihi airstrip serves the northern sector of Bwindi, where you can track the Buhoma and Ruhijja Gorilla Families. On the other hand, Kisoro Airstrip serves the southern sector of Bwindi National Park, where you can track the Rushaga, Nkuringo, and Nyakagezi families, the latter of which is located in Mgahinga National Park. Bwindi National Park is home to a total of 18 gorilla families that can be tracked every day. When you go gorilla tracking, you’ll be assigned to a group of eight people and allocated a specific family to observe. Once you spot the gorillas, you’ll have one hour to capture videos, and photos, and ask the rangers and guides any questions about these incredible creatures. While trekking through the forest, keep an eye out for other wildlife and bird species, including butterflies, primates, mammals, and frogs.

After an unforgettable encounter with the gorillas, you’ll return to your lodge to relax for the remainder of the day. The entire gorilla tracking activity typically takes between 5 to 9 hours, so we recommend bringing a packed lunch and hiring porters for assistance. If time allows, we’ll also take you to visit the Ride 4 A Woman project in Buhoma. Here, you can interact with local women and learn about their impressive handcrafted creations made from local materials, such as basket weaving and knitting.
