Booking a gorilla permit in Uganda for gorilla trekking safari

Uganda harbors more than half of the remaining mountain gorillas and it is estimated that more than 480 gorilla individuals stay in Uganda and particularly in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park and Mgahinga Gorilla National park. In Uganda, mountain gorillas form the major tourist attraction and as the result of the endangered mountain gorillas, gorilla trekking has become one of the best and stunning tourism activities that are being done in the forest jungles, and most of the visitors who come to top Uganda, the majority come for the gorilla trekking. In Uganda, you can spend one hour or four hours with the endangered mountain gorilla in their untamed wildness. Remember that endangered mountain gorillas cannot be kept in captivity.

When we look at the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park, this is found in southwestern Uganda in Kanungu or Rukungiri district and Kibale. The park has sectors or regions that include Buhoma, Ruhija, Nkuringo, and Rushaga and all these sectors have got the gorillas families that are habituated and are available for the visitors to see. More than 18 gorilla habituated families in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park are habituated and about 152 Uganda gorilla trekking permits are available for the visitors to trek and enjoy and thus this makes the park to be of great importance in the region.

Further, the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park also provides another well interesting experience and this is called the gorilla habituation experience, with this experience, the visitors will have to spend four hours with the gorilla instead of spending only one hour with the endangered mountain gorillas. Gorilla is trained to get used to the people in the process well known as the gorilla habituation process.

 Other than the Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park, in Uganda, the gorillas can also be seen in the Mgahinga Gorilla National park which is also found in southwestern Uganda in Kisoro district. This park is the pome to the only Nyakagezi gorilla family which visitors can see and this means that in Mgahinga, eighty gorilla permits are available perfidy for the visitors to go and see the endangered mountain gorillas.

The price of the gorilla trekking permits in Uganda is standard in all these parks and the gorilla trekking permit costs$700 for the foreign non-residents and $600 for the foreign residents and in case you want to spend four hours with the endangered mountain gorillas during the habituation process, you will need to pay $1500 if you’re a foreign n resident and $1000 for the foreign residents and then Uganda’s shillings 750000 if you are from the East African country and you are a citizen there.

 Once you have paid the gorilla trekking permit in Uganda, it comes along with the following services

 The gorilla trekking permit that you have paid, will include your 1 hour of doing the endangered mountain gorillas in the wildness. this activity will last from 1 hour to 7 hours and once the gorillas are seen, visitors will be allocated one hour to see and learn more about the gorillas as they are taking the photos and recording small videos and ask all the questions that they like to ask.

Further, the gorilla permit include the park entrance fees to the gorilla park, the guides, and the ranger costs are also included on the permit, and the services of the gorilla’s trackers are also included here and lastly, while in the forest looking for the gorillas you are always secured and thus the gorilla trekking permit will include the security while in the park and this is provided with the rangers by the use of the gun. There is also the tourism police that helps to curb all the crimes and provide the visitors with the security

Remember that the gorilla trekking permit in Uganda is valid until you have spent your one hour seeing the gorillas in the wildness and once the gorillas have been seen within one hour then the card will have expired. Visitors can get the gorillas to permit directly from Uganda wildlife Authority or you can book it through the recognized tours and travel company in Uganda. What you need is to give your operator the date that you intend to travel and then for him or she will check for you the availability of permit on that day and later get back to you and the process continues.

It is good that you book the gorilla permit early enough to avoid inconveniences because these permits are so competitive and you might get disappointed with the last-minute booking. Thus makes sure that you have your permit secured and ready to see the gorillas either in Mgahinga or Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park.
